I don't imagine cleats as "go quickly" gear....I visualize them as safety gear. I have observed quite a few people fall and fall guns or slip and drop donning hiking footwear when it would not come about when they were sporting cleats. the only real time I'v viewed them certainly be a downside was on stairs, platforms etc that don't have carpet on
